Testimonials 2008

Guild of Battlefield Guides

'Your contribution was absolutely invaluable, most particularly in using your detailed knowledge of the Peninsular War battlefields to orientate us and to describe what happened all those years ago. As I said, it helps enormously to have someone who knows what they are talking about. Very many thanks for devoting so much of your time and effort to us.'
Major General W G Cubitt CBE -'OP PICASSO' London District Staff Ride to the Peninsular War - 6-10 Oct 08

'I was very impressed with the scope & scale of the whole trip & it more than matched my expectations. The leader’s ability to gain access to places & people added variety & interest and was an additional dimension. His ability to convey sufficient information to grasp both strategic & tactical issues at various stages was very helpful to my understanding and his intimate knowledge of the units & their dispositions inspired great confidence. Well organised, flexible but still focussed on the tour objectives.

Many thanks for looking after the ARK ROYAL Command Group so magnificently at Waterloo. It was so kind of you to get up so early and, I am sure, get home so late and give us a battlefield tour that was full of relevance for the challenges we face today – at sea! I speak for the whole team when I say that our thoughts on leadership have been really invigorated by our ten hours replaying a land battle under your expert tutorage. It really was very good and we are all extremely grateful to you.

'Many, many thanks for a great evening on Thursday.  You really went out of your way to give us an interesting and instructive time.  We thought you pictures were so clear.  I do not think that there was anyone present who could not remember at least one member of the family being affected.  Its heartbreaking yet wonderful to know how patriotic so many people were.  With grateful thanks.
