Testimonials 2006

Graeme – very many thanks for providing yet another excellent Battlefield Tour. The attending "Chunderers" were all suitably impressed and many were still commenting on the excellent programme as they left the bus last night – and it's quite right that they should do so. You and Mike make an excellent team and, as individuals who are clearly independent of the Sqn, your comments reinforce and expand the work conducted by the permanent staff. I am most grateful to you both for all your efforts, whether it is sorting out the meal tickets or conjuring–up the horrors of the battlefield. You make my trip very easy and most enjoyable.

First of all a huge thank you from all the Wolstenholme's for such a fantastic trip to the battle fields of the Great War. It really was such a special few days for us all. I personally learnt so much and was fascinated to relate some of the leadership and decision making aspects of such a complex and massive campaign to today's world.
Such a lesson to us all, and such a great way to receive it by visiting the places where it all took place. We are indebted to you for making it possible, and for making it real, and for getting everybody involved. I will remember always the walk to where Arthur died, and to read the letters about his death on the way there. When I read my own Grandfathers log book 'the road to Serre' means so much more now. As you said at the start, your job was to show us the ground and to tell us the story – we had to use our imagination and somehow put in our own context. You did a brilliant job.

'Antonia has been telling me what a wonderful Battlefield Tour you arranged for them and in particular Johnny's parents. I know they not only found the way you describe events very moving but also they appreciated the huge care which you took on researching the details of Hugh's family. So many thanks for what was for them and I dare say it my grandchildren a very memorable visit'

"Fantastic! Just come from a Slovakian Armed Forces day and many deputies came up and waxed lyrical and how much they enjoyed last Friday, courtesy of you. I did too; only sorry I had to cut short the afternoon and miss Vandamme. Big thanks again. I will long treasure your W'loo tours and definitely keen to do Salamanca.

Thanks so much for the photos, they turned out really good didn't they! I had a terrific time that day & have certainly been derelict in sending my thanks to you. When I got home that evening I rang my brother & we talked for about two hours about everything I had learned from you. I can now truly understand the glowing testimonials you receive on your website. Walking the battlefield with you was a unique experience ..... I had the uncanny feeling that I was with someone who had been there on the day. Thank you very much for that. Hope to see you again soon.
